More Casting News For Jumanji Sequel
The nostalgia sequel adds four more to the roster.
Remember Jumanji? It was a successful film with a lot of nostalgia surrounding it, so Hollywood remembers it. When Hollywood remembers something, it usually means sequel or reboot. In this case, it’s the former.
We already knew that the film would star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan, and Jack Black. They’re the adults of the movie. The latest casting news is that Ser’Darius Blain, Madison Iseman, Alex Wolff, and Morgan Turner will also star. Johnson dubbed the younger actors “Jumanji Juniors.” Presumably, they will fill a similar role that Kirsten Dunst and Bradley Pierce filled as the brother and sister duo of Judy and Peter Shepherd from the original film.
The original Jumanji featured some pretty frightening images, including, but not limited to, giant glass-cracking mosquitos, a man-eating plant, a swarm of animals stampeding through a populated city, and an unstoppable hunter trying to kill Robin Williams. From a legacy standpoint, the new film has a lot of work if it wants to match it predecessor for frights.
The film will release 28 July, 2017.
