Meet Moana's Maui

Maui, voiced by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, is a Polynesian demigod. He's also kind of a tool. For whatever reason, the film's namesake heroine, Moana, needs his help. Perhaps it's his super strength and magical giant fish hook.

Unusually for a Disney animated film, the trailer features Maui making a pop cultural reference. That's Dreamworks' thing! We expect that at some point in the film, Maui will learn a lesson in humility and Moana will come to treat him as a friend and not just someone to assist her in her mission.
