Maynooth University To Honour Lenny Abrahamson
The film director will be presented with the Maynooth University President’s Medal 2018 at an award ceremony this Saturday.
Maynooth University celebrate its 21st birthday by honouring some of Ireland’s leading voices in arts and culture at its gala Summer Soirée taking place from 7:30pm at the Maynooth University Campus Grounds.
The highlight of the evening with be the presentation of the inaugural Maynooth University Award for Arts and Culture, which recognises the outstanding cultural contributions of Irish artists across music, film and literature.
This year will see three artists honoured with an award, including Lenny Abrahamson, Northern Irish poet, Michael Longley, CBE and 1996 Eurovision song contest winner and graduate of Maynooth University, Eimear Quinn.
Maynooth University’s Summer Soirée will also include a wide array of exciting performances, talks, and cutting‑edge installations.
