Chris Kabs has produced hits for some of the biggest names in Irish hip-hop, (including JyellowL's Choice Music Prize-nominated debut album, 2020 D|Vision) but he devoted his exclusive livestream on the Hot Press YouTube – which aired on June 4th – to his wealth of exciting solo material.

Continuing to take his rightful place in the spotlight, the young Dubliner is gearing up for the release of his eagerly anticipated album Therapy next year. He has been offering fans a taste of what to expect with 'Fly Away', 'Your Ex' and 'More Than A Number'. The latter track was shared alongside a powerful video addressing police brutality – which premiered on hotpress.com back in April.

Kabs cycled through these fan favourites in the livestream, opening with an uptempo, trap-heavy hip-hop tune called 'Loyalty'. The multi-talented rapper, producer and singer-songwriter showcased his innate ability to blend genres throughout the set, fusing trap and R&B on 'See You Here', and afrobeats and electronic on 'Jealousy (Broke Us Up)'.

His frank, earnest lyricism shone through from beginning to end, and Kabs closed out the memorable set with a moving performance of his emotional single 'More Than A Number'. He also played tracks from 2020 – including 'Jealousy (Broke Us Up)' and 'Fly Away' – bringing some much-needed positive, infectious energy to what was a truly remarkable performance.
