Liam Neeson Officially Ireland's Biggest Box Office Star of All-Time
You can always count on the Ballymena native to bring in the big bucks.
Liam Neeson is the only Irish actor to enter the list of the top 50 highest grossing actors of all-time. Sliding in at No. 21, Neeson boasts an impressive $2.9 billion in box-office sales.
With a career that effectively began in 1981, Neeson rose to critical acclaim with his performance as Oskar Schindler in Steven Spielberg's classic Schindler's List. Since then, Neeson has risen through the ranks and starred in some of the biggest block-buster franchises of all time, including Star Wars and Taken. Those two account for some of his highest grossing films, with Star Wars accounting for $475 million, the Taken series raking in $145 million and the hilarious Lego Movie singing to the sweet tune of $258 million.
The list of big earners is topped by Harrison Ford, who leads the pack with an incredible cumulative $4.8 billion in box-office sales.
Neeson can be seen next in A Monster Calls which hits cinemas this October.
