JJ Abrams to Produce God Particle

That's right, JJ Abrams Cloverfield series is officially an anthology. Rather than a series of related stories, each one is an isolated event with common ideas. The first two films were relatively low budget science fiction films with conceptual ideas.

The newest film is God Particle, where a group of astronauts find them stranded on a space station after a scientific experiment causes the Earth to disappear. That should be bad enough, but a mysterious alien spaceship arrives, and the astronauts must determine if its friend or foe.

Abrams has positioned himself as a patron of out of the box science fiction, with new Cloverfield anthology films releasing every year, now. God Particle releases in 2017.
