James Norton Frontrunner to Become 007
Another day... another Bond candidate.
With many fearing Aidan Turner won't sip on the martini, now that he's confirmed his return to BBC's Poldark, it's time to speculate on other likely nominees for the coveted role.
One candidate that's gaining quite a lot of traction is War And Peace star James Norton. Given that he is a relatively unknown actor compared to those who've already been named as potential Bonds (Idris Elba, Tom Hiddleston, etc.), to bag this role could be the career changing win of a lifetime for Norton.
With Tom Hiddleston's chances seeming less and less substantial, as a result of his highly publicised – and widely ridiculed – relationship with Taylor Swift, Norton just might be the man to swipe the 007 job.
This dark horse is looking strong, according to betting agency Paddy Power who rate Norton's – and the chasing pack's – chances as follows: Norton is odds-on at 1/3 to land the Bond part. He's ahead of Aidan at 7/4 and Tom at 9/2. Norton has flirted with the idea of donning the suave suit and is delighted to be associated with the name. "It's lovely and very bizarre and flattering to be included in that conversation," he has said.
All we can do now is wait for the official announcement, which will reveal who's been recruited for the 007 job. Stey tuned...
