The third installment of the Thor franchise is officially underway.

The star of the show, Chris Hemsworth (aka Thor), announced the filming news via his Instagram.
The Thor blockbusters have accumulated quite the following with the first two installments in 2011's Thor and Thor: The Dark World in 2013.

Another Marvel classic, Thor also stars Mark Ruffalo, Cate Blanchett, Jeff Goldblum and Tom Hiddleston. Fans can now begin the countdown to Thor: Ragnarok which is due for cinematic release in October 2017.
