The X-Files to return for an 11th season
The 90s sci-fi hit is coming back again for a ten-episode run.
Stars of the 90s sci-fi hit The X-Files Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny are confirmed to be returning again to the series for ten more episodes. The show's creator and executive producer Chris Carter will also be back for the upcoming eleventh season.
“Chris’s creativity, along with the brilliant work of David and Gillian, continue to propel this pop culture phenomenon, and we can’t wait to see what fresh mysteries Mulder and Scully uncover in this next chapter of The X-Files,” said David Madden, president of Fox.
The upcoming episodes are currently billed as an “event series” to be aired in the upcoming 2017-2018 television season. 2016 saw a revival of the classic series, which received mixed reviews from critics and fans despite drawing a massive audience of over sixteen million viewers, earning it the title of second most popular broadcast drama of 2016.
