The Lost Boys TV series in the works
Some good news for fans of the 1987 cult vampire film.
Vampire Diaries may be nearing its eight and final season, but The Lost Boys seem primed to carry on the vampire genre.
The original Warner Bros film is a horror comedy movie classic and showcased the talent of up and coming young stars like Kiefer Sutherland, Jason Patric, Corey Haim and Corey Feldman. Created by Rob Thomas who also created classics such as Veronica Mars and iZombie, the film followed two Arizona brothers played by Patric and Haim who move to California and wage war against a gang of vampires led by a peroxide blonde Sutherland.
Envisioned as a seven-season project, the series will have a new twist on the original as it will span 70 years. The idea is that each season will focus on a new decade, and all the humans, settings and antagonists will change. Only the vampires, the Lost boys, will remain the same.
Looking through a different lens from the original, Thomas will explore what it really means to be immortal.
