The Dark Tower Movie Will Also Get a TV Series
Idris Elba will be in it.
As you may know, the long awaited Dark Tower movie is in production, with Idris Elba starring as Roland Deschain, a gunslinger on a mission. Matthew McConaughey will play Walter Padick, the main antagonist of the Dark Tower novels and a recurring character in various Stephen King stories.
The story of the fourth novel, Wizard and Glass, will be adapted for television. The original novel has Roland recount his backstory to his companions, telling a tragic tale of love and loss. Idris Elba will reprise his role as the modern Roland for his part in the framing story, and a younger actor will play Roland in the backstory. The TV series is expected to debut in 2018.
