The Bell Jar movie to star Dakota Fanning
Kirsten Dunst to make full-length directing debut
Kirsten Dunst is set to direct an adaptation of The Bell Jar starring Dakota Fanning.
The Bell Jar is the only novel by the beloved American writer Sylvia Plath. The novel is known for its dark portrayal of Esther Greenwood, a young woman suffering from mental illness.
Production is aimed to start in the first quarter of 2017.
Dunst co-wrote the script with Nellie Kim. The film will be Dunst's first full-length effort as a director. Her previous credits include the short films Welcome and Bastard, both of which she wrote or co-wrote.
