Suicide Squad fans want to shut down Rotten Tomatoes
Don't mess with DC or Suicide Squad fans.
There hasn't been so much hype about a film in a long time. Suicide Squad has generated that hype in spades.
Despite the hype, the film hasn't impressed everyone. The website Rotten Tomatoes has recently come under fire from fans as it dared to give the film a low mark.
On the site, the film currently sits at 35% which is not as bad as the mere 27% raked in by Batman v Superman. As a result, fans of the DC superhero universe are seeing red, and have set up a petition on Change.org to have Rotten Tomatoes taken down.
Fans accused the website of "always give The DC Extended Universe movies unjust Bad Reviews," and that this colours people's opinions even though the movies are "great."
The petition has already acquired 7,000 signatures, only 439 short of their goal.
For some this petition seems unfair, as Rotten Tomatoes doesn't actually review films, but the petition's organiser said that the aim of the petition is more a message to critics than an active campaign to shut down the site.
What is clear, is that you have to be a brave film critic these days to come between a DC fan and their films.
