Irish Kid To Play Artemis Fowl In Disney Movie
Ferdia Shaw from Kilkenny beat over 1,200 other hopefuls to the be cast in the lead role of the big screen adaptation of Eoin Colfer's Artemis Fowl fantasy books.
The movie will have a strong Irish connection with actress Lara McDonnell to also star and Belfast-born Kenneth Branagh will direct the script written by Irish playwright Conor McPherson.
Other big names to star in the movie include Josh Gad, Judi Dench and Nonso Anozie of Games of Thrones fame.
