Red Rock Captures 1.1 Million Viewers on UK Debut
Astounding success for the Red Rock crew as they draw in an impressive crowd for their BBC debut.
Yesterday at 1.45pm, Red Rock premiered in the UK on BBC.
Members of TV3 were awaiting with abated breath to see how their soap would fare in viewing figures. They must be popping open the Moet today as figures reveal that 1.1 million tuned in to see the antics of the Kielys and Hennessys. That's an 18.6% share of the available viewing audience. Pretty impressive!
Managing Director of TV3, Pat Kiely was thrilled by the good news; "These audience numbers show that great Irish television content will travel. They also demonstrate the export potential for the Irish production industry. We are delighted that viewers in the UK have taken to Red Rock so quickly. This is fantastic news for TV3 as we expand the business and increase our originated output.”
The show will continue to occupy the afternoon slot of 1.45 pm on BBC One. Irish viewers can catch the latest from the Kielys and Hennessys when Red Rock returns this September.
