The dwellers in the Mouse House must be laughing with the goldmine they've uncovered thanks to their live adaptations success.
Jon Favreau's The Jungle Book reimagination is still basking in critical and commercial glory but with a teaser trailer unveiled earlier on in the week, all eyes are now firmly on Beauty and The Beast.
The upcoming trailer for the childhood classic is proof that reboots are becoming more popular with audiences than original content. Despite it being a relatively short trailer that reveals little or next to nothing, the Beauty and The Beast trailer was viewed an astonishing 91.8 millions times in 24 hours. Star Wars previously held the title with 88 millions views but the nostalgia that was ignited by the Disney tale smashed that record with ease.
Beauty and The Beast joins an array of Disney adaptations in their filmography. This one in particular though has an unprecedented weight of excitement and anticipation behind it which has many punters betting that Beauty and The Beast will be the most successful yet.
The star studded cast includes Emma Watson as the book-reading beauty Belle, Downton Abbey's Dan Stevens as the Beast, Luke Evans as Gaston. Lending their voices to the charismatic household objects are Ian McKellen (Cogsworth), Ewan McGregor (Lumiere) and Emma Thompson (Mrs Potts).
Beauty and The Beast is slated for release in March 2017.
