Game of Thrones returns in April
A return date has finally been announced.
Game of Thrones will return to the silver screen in April 2019 on Sky Atlantic in Ireland and the UK. The eighth and final season will compile of six episodes believed to be 1-2 hours long, airing one a week.
In the final season fans hope to find out who will sit on the Iron Throne. Sophie Turner, known for her role as Sansa Stark, said season eight is "full of betrayal, full of war, full of danger."
Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (AKA Jaime Lannister) has revealed that his character will deal with his decisions made in season seven, leaving King's Landing and Cersei (portrayed by Lena Headey).
In an interview with Vanity Fair the actor explained "The core of him has always been Cersei... When that's taken away, what are you then? What's left? Is there anything left? When he leaves, obviously he has no idea. He doesn't know the answer to that question," referring to his Game of Thrones character.
Gearing up for the final season Game of Thrones shared a flashback video showing "Every battle. Every betrayal. Every risk. Every fight. Every sacrifice. Every death. All #ForTheThrone" over the previous seasons. Followers of the show have been encouraged to "rally the realm and share [their] favourite moments using #ForTheThrone".

An end of an era for the actors involved, Kit Harrington revealed "For a good month afterwards I just burst into tears randomly." The actor plays Jon Show on the hit series and said "I can't think of a better job to have in your 20s." Many believe either Jon Snow or Daenerys Targaryen will rule come the end of the season.
Harrington is one of the only people to know how the show concludes. He hasn't even told his wife, Rose Leslie, whom he met filming the series. Leslie played Jon Snow's love interest, Ygritte, and had the iconic line "you know nothing Jon Snow", which now seems a bit ironic for the couple.
