First Look At President Robin Wright On Set Of House Of Cards
Netflix have revealed the first look at the new President-in-Chief in the House of Cards universe.
Wright -- Golden Globe winner and Emmy Award nominee for her role as First Lady Claire Underwood -- now assumes the lead role in the show as President of the United States following Kevin Spacey's firing from the show for sexual misconduct.
In the sixth and final season of the award-winning House of Cards, President Underwood will hope to make her mark on the Oval Office.
In a cover story with American magazine New York, Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos spoke of how the power transition went smoother than most real-world presidential changes.
“[Spacey] had acknowledged all of the accusations and they were potentially criminal. The hard part was, what about the 300 people who make this show?” Sarandos said of the upcoming season. "Why should everyone be punished for what transpired?”.
Netflix offered a “Kevin-free solution for the last season” and informed Wright that they were open to a ultimate season that would involve her taking lead as President.
The final season of House of Cards returns to Netflix later this year. You can watch the final season trailer below:
