Die Antwoord Slam Suicide Squad Director
Die Antwoord have accused the Suicide Squad director David Ayer of stealing their style in the new superhero movie.
The film, released last Friday, stars Jared Leto and Margot Robbie as part of an all-star ensemble cast. Since its release, the South African rap group's Yolandi Visser has claimed that filmmaker David Ayer took influence from them without giving due credit.
Posting a video showing alleged similarities between herself and Robbie's character Harley Quinn as well as Leto's Joker and her bandmate Ninja, Yolandi claimed that Ayer had contacted the group before making the movie and that members of the cast later revealed that he referenced them while shooting the film.
Visser went on to say that Ayer should start a "I'm a fake fuck" crew along with Kanye West. The video is soundtracked by Craig Mack’s 'Jockin’ My Style'.
