David Lynch says a new series of Twin Peaks is possible, not probable

Speaking via Skype at his latest photo exhibition, 'Small Stories', which is currently on display at the Belgrade Culture Centre in Serbia, Lynch discussed the future of the show, alongside topics such as transcendental meditation, ambiguity and "a tree just floating in the air."

Ducking questions asked surrounding several of the ambiguous aspects of the finale, by insisting "what matters is what you believe happened", before adding, "Many things in life just happen and we have to come to our own conclusions."

Then, when pressed on whether the show has a future, Lynch did not rule out a fourth season, but responded realistically saying, "It took me four and a half years to write and film this season."
