The child actor appears to be leaving his Harry Potter roots well behind in intense new war film.

Radcliffe's post Harry Potter career has been very diverse.

He couldn't distance himself further from the magical world of Hogwarts. From getting up close and personal (closer than most) to horses in the critically acclaimed West-End play Equus in 2009, to gothic horror flic The Woman in Black , he is setting himself up as a versatile young actor.

Judging from the trailer below of Imperium Radcliffe is all geared up for his most exciting and intense role yet.

The film is scheduled to be released in Ireland September 16.
