Clint Eastwood will Direct a Jessica Buchanan Hostage Biopic
Fresh off Sully, Clint's already prepping for his next project.
The popular actor and dramatic film director is already working on a new movie, Impossible Odds, about Jessica Buchanan. This will be another story of American heroes, a favorite subject for Eastwood.
In October 2011, Jessica Buchanan of the US and Poul Hagen Thisted of Denmark were working with the Danish Refugee Council on a demining project when they were captured by Somali pirates in Galkayo. The Council tried but failed to enlist local Somali leaders in freeing the hostage, and the pirates refused a ransom of US $1.5 million. With Buchanan’s health failing, US Special Forces led a successful rescue operation on 25 January 2012, killing all nine Somali pirates and rescuing both the hostages.
Not much is known about the film. Will it focus on the two hostages’ three-month ordeal, the rescue operation, or a combination of the two? We hope it will be the last one.
