Clare Sands launches Fund It campaign for her self-titled album
The sixth generation fiddler has been described as 'an Irish fiddle-playing reincarnation of Janis Joplin.'
Corkonian fiddler Clare Sands has been living and breathing music since she was born. A sixth generation fiddler, she fuses rock and funk with traditional Irish music. Now, the expert musician – who recently relocated to Connemara – has launched a Fund It campaign to help fund her debut album.
Thwarted by the Coronavirus pandemic, Sands will rely on funding from her supporters to actualise her dream. She has been called "an impassioned voice and unique force in Irish Music and a musical genius on stage" by Hot Press, and the album itself promises to be "a pulsating journey for all the senses, with tunes to move to, and songs to get lost in."
You can donate to Sands' Fund It campaign here, and watch her perform 'The Malecón Reel' below.
