Bryan Cranston wants to play Trump
"He's this Shakespearean character"
Move over, Walter White, Bryan Cranston has a new role in mind.
While appearing on the U.S. talk show Today, Cranston was asked if he had any real-life historical figures he wanted to play. The actor has recently portrayed U.S. president Lyndon Baines Johnson and screenwriter Dalton Trumbo in an Oscar-nominated turn.
Without missing a beat, the Breaking Bad star enthusiastically expressed his desire to play Donald Trump.
"Who wouldn't want to take a bite out of that?" the actor said.
He then broke out impressions of both Trump and Jerry Seinfeld, whose sitcom he appeared on as Dr. Tim Whatley.
Cranston is currently promoting The Infiltrator, in which he stars as Robert Mazur, a real-life undercover agent who helped bring down Pablo Escobar. He will also appear as Zordon in the upcoming Power Rangers movie.
