Brain On Fire Premieres This Week On Netflix
The film is based on Susannah Cahalan's best-selling memoir ‘Brain on Fire: My Month of Madness.’
'Brain on Fire' is a 2016 American-Canadian-Irish biographical drama film directed and written by Gerard Barrett.
The film follows Susannah Cahalan, an up-and-coming journalist at the New York Post, who becomes plagued by voices in her head and seizures. As weeks progress and Susannah quickly moves deeper into insanity, her behaviours shift from violence to catatonia. After a series of tantrums, misdiagnoses, and a lengthy hospital stay, a doctor's last-minute intervention enables him to give her a diagnosis and a chance to rebuild her life.
The film stars Chloë Grace Moretz, Jenny Slate, Thomas Mann, Tyler Perry, Carrie-Anne Moss, and Richard Armitage.
Brain on Fire first premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2016.
Brain On Fire premieres June 22 on netflix.com.
