Blake Lively to play vengeful assassin in new movie by 'James Bond' producers
Blake Lively has signed on to lead new thriller The Rhythm Section.
Blake Lively is joining the cast of the contemporary movie adaptation of thriller novel, The Rhythm Section. The movie is going to be produced by the same team behind the iconic James Bond movies. Filming is set to start this fall.
The movie adopted from Mark Burnell's four-part book series, Stephanie Patrick, centers around a female heroine who found out her parents did not die in an airplane crash by accident. So she went on a vendetta to find out who's responsible for the death of her family.
Co-producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli from EON Productions released a statement which was published on Variety, it wrote, “In Stephanie Patrick, Mark has created a unique female heroine who turns so many of the current cinematic clichés surrounding so-called ‘kick-ass’ female leads on their head. To be bringing such a fresh, realistic, and bold international thriller to the big screen with EON Productions, Reed, and Blake is an exciting proposition for us all at IM Global.”
