Blade Runner Sequel Officially Titled Blade Runner 2049
You didn't miss 2047 sequels.
Details of the movie are scant. We expect that the number 2049 refers to the year the movie takes place. The original Blade Runner> took place in 2017. When it came out, 2017 was far into the future, but with the new year around the corner, we can safely say the actual 2017 won't look anything like the future depicted by the 1982 film.
The only actor to reprise their role for the sequel is Harrison Ford. With the film releasing late in 2017, the sequel gap stretches thirty five years, which will put it in the list of films with the longest gaps between sequels.
