#BandcampFriday Round-up: The best new Irish music and merch to purchase

During the Covid-19 pandemic, Bandcamp announced that they would be waiving their revenue shares on the first Friday of every month for 2020, in order to give artists 100% of the proceeds on the day. We've been doing monthly roundups, so for the last Bandcamp Friday in 2020, here are our top picks.

Pillow Queens: 'In Waiting'

The debut album from perhaps Dublin's best rock band of the moment soared to international critical acclaim. Hot Press called 'In Waiting' "distinctive, original, and quietly brilliant."

Nealo: 'All The Leaves Are Falling'

Another debut album, this time of the hip-hop variety. Nealo, a law-student-turned-dog-walker-turned-rapper was hailed by Hot Press as "the unlikely hero of Irish hip-hop", after the release of his beautiful debut album All The Leaves Are Falling this past October.

The brand new duo from critically-acclaimed folk artist Joshua Burnside and his brother Connor released their debut single today. 'Hawk On The Cliff' invokes the nostalgic warmth of a winter pub night.

Malaki: 'Chrysalis'

One of Ireland's fastest-rising rappers has recently released an incredibly special, stunningly presented vinyl of his work so far. With heart-on-sleeve lyrics and expert production by Matthew Harris, it's hard not to fall in love with the Stillorgan rapper's work.

Yenkee: 'Life In 3/4 Time'

One of our 'Hot For 2020' picks, Cork-born, London-based producer and songwriter Yenkee has had a great year, musically speaking. Every song released in 2020 has been high-calibre and infectious. We can't wait to see what 2021 has in store.

Gavin DaVinci: 'Council House Freestyle'

Gavin DaVinci has emerged out of Limerick's PX Music crew, dropping his rapid-fire versed 'Council House Freestyle' at the start of November. One to watch in 2021.

Brién: "DIY VOL. 1"

Brién is a Northern Irish producer of the Soft Boy Records collective. His EP DIY VOL. 1 is just about the most soothing thing on this list.

Gemma Dunleavy: 'Up De Flats'

Gemma Dunleavy's October EP is a love letter to the rising R&B artist's Dublin neighbourhood, "dedicated to the people of Sheriff Street and the North Wall community."

Jackie Beverly: 'Sweet Goodbye'
