Actor R. Lee Ermey Has Passed Away
The 74-year-old US actor, who will probably be best remembered for starring as the profane drill sergeant in Stanley Kubrick's 'Full Metal Jacket', died on Sunday.
A talented character actor best-known for roles of authority such as military or police roles, Ermey had over 120 credits in TV and movies to his name.
He also starred in 'Se7en', 'Apocalypse Now', the remake of 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre' and 'Mississippi Burning'.
Other big movies that he appeared in include 'Toy Soldiers', 'Leaving Las Vegas', 'Dead Man Walking', 'Purple Hearts' and 'X-Men 3'.
Ermey died from complications related to pneumonia.

It is with deep sadness that I regret to inform you all that R. Lee Ermey ("The Gunny") passed away this morning from complications of pneumonia. He will be greatly missed by all of us.
