2FM announces brand-new daytime schedule

2FM today announced a brand-new daytime schedule which will take effect from May 5.

The updated schedule is based on listener feedback collected by the radio station and aims to reflect the preferences of young audiences in Ireland.

2FM Breakfast with Carl Mullan, Roz Purcell and Aisling Bonner will now run from 6am to 10am instead of the previous 6am-9am slot.

Doireann Garrihy is set to return to the schedule with a brand-new earlier programme at 10am, where she will bring engaging conversation and Irish humour on her two-hour show.

The midday slot, which has been occupied by Tracy Clifford for over a decade, will be replaced by Demi Issac and Mikey O'Reilly, who were selected by an expression of interest competition that ran across the station last year.

2FM Drive also gets a fresh new look as Laura Fox and Katja Mia, who officially joins 2FM, take the reins for 2FM Drive at 3pm-6pm.

Mia made her radio debut on 2FM last October when she stepped in to cover a weekend programme.

Beta De Silva will wind listeners down from 6pm by playing a selection of music across all genres.
