Watch: Demi Lovato's bleak new documentary is streaming online as part of new YouTube premium service
"The last time I did an interview this long I was on cocaine, it was called Stay Strong"
In her second documentary since the aforementioned 2012 feature-length, Simply Complicated sees Lovato reflect frankly on the addictions and anxieties that have trailed her since she first broke in 2008 with the hit movie, Camp Rock.
A YouTube Original video, Simply Complicated is part of the platform's push to generate premium content by way of offering free original series' and films to users, with the scheme having been unveiled at NewFronts conference in New York back in May.
Directed by Hannah Lux Davis, a prolific music video director who has worked with Arianna Grande, Little Mix and Fifth Harmony amongst many others, Simply Complicated looks at Lovato as "an outcast and outsider", "a regular 25 year old" and "one of the biggest pop stars in the world".
