EXCLUSIVE: Tina Turner to play Dublin
Hotpress.com can exclusively reveal that Tina Turner is on her way to Dublin for a theatre show in March 2009.
Although the precise date and venue have yet to be confirmed, the likelihood is that it’ll take place in the new Point Theatre.
Turner, who officially retired from live performance eight years ago, decided to hit the road again after performing at the Grammys with Beyoncé.
“The response was overwhelming,” she enthuses. “Everywhere I went people were asking me when I was going back on tour again. So after a lot of thought and planning we announced an American tour. Now Europe beckons!”
The legendary soulster will be drawing on every phase of a career that now spans five decades, and includes such classics as ‘Nutbush City Limits’, ‘River Deep Mountain High’, ‘What’s Love Got To Do With It’ and the song that ushered a thousand football teams on to the pitch, ‘The Best’.
