Friday and Seezer nominated for UK gong

Gavin Friday and Maurice Seezer are in the running for a gong at this year's Ivor Novello Awards for British Songwriters, Composer & Music Publishers

The Hot Press Newsdesk, 06 May 2004

The duo's music for In America will be slugging it out for 'Best Original Film Score' with Dan Jones' Max and Jonny Greenwood's Bodysong.

Also getting dickey-bowed up for the May 27 ceremony in London's Grosvenor Hotel are Moloko whose 'Familiar Feeling' is shortlisted alongside Layo & Bushwacka's 'Shining Through' and Goldfrapp's 'Strict Machine' in the 'Best Dance' category.

Despite their confusion as to what constitutes "British", the Ivors are among the UK industry's most prestigious awards with past winners including everyone from Kate Bush and Morrissey to Paul McCartney and Lionel Bart.
