New social networking site for bands launches

A new Galway-based social networking site for independent artists, MyTuneRox, launches next month with a national Battle of the Bands competition, which will have heats in Donegal, Sligo, Limerick, Cork, Kilkenny, Waterford, Dublin and the City of the Tribes.
The national final takes place on August 27 in Monroe’s, Galway with the winners getting to record a single, which will hopefully be propelled into the Irish charts courtesy of a dedicated Facebook campaign.
Acts that already have their own MyTuneRox pages include Ronan Stone, Vegas Vampire, James Green, Dr. Jones, This Nachez, DJ Krolik, The Jackass-Penguin Show and Fling.
