GLOBAL DRUG SURVEY 2017: Magic mushrooms carry the lowest health risk of any drug
Methamphetamine & Synthetic Cannabis top the list of substances to avoid...
Magic mushrooms carry the lowest acute risk of harm of any drug.
That’s according to the findings of the Global Drug Survey 2017, which has number-crunched information confidentially provided by over 150,000 recreational drug users.
Only 0.2% of people who’ve taken magic mushrooms over the past 12 months sought emergency medical treatment.
The most dangerous drugs at 4.8% and 3.2% respectively are Methamphetamine and Synthetic Cannabis.
Neither are taken in any great quantities here, with Meth striking out in the survey and Synthetic Cannabis registering just 0.9%. If Irish drug users are to stay healthy, it obviously needs to stay that way.
Other noteworthy emergency medical treatment figures are:
Alcohol – 1.3%
Cannabis – 0.6%
Cocaine – 1%
MDMA – 1.2%
Amphetamine – 1.1%
LSD – 1%
There’s a higher rate of seeking EMT for women than men for many substances. This is especially the case with Methamphetamine where the comparative female/male figures are 8.2% and 3.7%
