A main stage layout encompassing a keyboard, mandolin and four guitars set the scene for a captivating experience with Paul Brady, the ‘elder statesman’ of the Irish music. The singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist turned back the years encapsulating his extensive catalogue of 40 years for a special night at the Theatre Royal Waterford.
Often classified as the musicians’ musician, the now 75 year-young Tyrone native dug deep into his musical vault of gems like ‘The Island’, ‘Steel Claw’, ‘Paradise Is Here’, ‘Nobody Know’ and ‘The Lakes of Pontchartrain’ were intertwined with stories of his youth in Dublin bars during his college days, having Tina Turner record ‘Paradise Is Here’ for her Break Every Rule album in 1986, joining Planxty and his collaboration with Andy Irvine, Liam O'Flynn, Dónal Lunny and Christy Moore, having the attentive audience on the edge of their seats throughout.
