WATCH: TPM stage parody 'Dundalk Against Change' protest

TPM have shared footage of their parody protest on Blackrock Beach in Dundalk yesterday evening, May 26 – coinciding with Gemma O'Doherty's protest against the Government's Covid-19 restrictions at the same location.

The Dundalk hip-hop duo, tipped as one of the Hot Press 'Hot for 2020' Irish acts, arrived on the beach while O'Doherty's protest was underway – with TPM (aka brothers Charles and Andrew Hendy) brandishing tinfoil hats, a megaphone and signs reading 'Dundalk Against Change'. Among their satirical demands were "bring back dial-up" and "bring back the punt".

"We will not be stopped!" Andrew is heard yelling in the video. "We are idiots!"

"We want our old ways back," he continues. "Because that's the way that we had it, and the new ways are wrong. Stop the new ways!"

TPM's video has since been shared widely across social media – clocking up over 9,000 likes on Twitter alone.

The pair, who have built up a reputation on the Irish music scene for packing punchlines in one bar and socially-conscious commentary in the next, previously contributed to the Hot Press 'Musicians on the General Election' series. Read what they had to say here.
