Person dies following fire in Dublin City Centre
A person has died following a fire at a building on Capel Street in Dublin City Centre.
Multiple units from the Dublin Fire Brigade were at the scene yesterday (Monday 11 Septmeber) afternoon.
People were evacuated from the building Capel Street building when the fire broke out at around 4:30pm.
Emergency services brought the situation under control, and later found a body inside one of the resedential units in the building.
The body has been taken to the Dublin City Mortuary where a postmortem is expected to be carried out today.
Gardaí said there are no further details on the deceased at this moment.
The scene of the fire has been preserved for a technical examination into how the fire began.
