Jack White mocks US President Trump following Tuesday press conference
The musician went after the President’s speaking style and recent actions
Jack White mocked US President Donald Trump’s Tuesday press conference on social media yesterday.
The press conference marked the one year anniversary of Trump’s second inauguration. Trump arrived with a large sheaf of papers labeled ‘Accomplishments’, but soon threw it on the floor, and ended up covering a much wider range of topics.
White, a vocal celebrity critic of Trump, took to social media to lampoon Trump’s rambling, often incoherent remarks.
"Me do accomplishments!” White captioned his post. “Trump smart. Good boy deserve Nobel Peace Prize. Dementia? What is? NO! Trump smart, pass brain test, name giraffe.”
In addition to referencing Trump’s apparent cognitive decline, White mentioned several other news stories surrounding Trump: Trump’s recent attack on Venezuela, abduction of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, and social media post naming himself the acting president of Venezuela; Trump’s repeated statements about making Canada the US’ 51st state; and Trump’s recent attempts to threaten and coerce Denmark and Greenland into ‘giving’ Greenland to the US.
"Me President of Venezuela and Canada,” White wrote. “Me want Greenland too for fun. Mom said Trump could have been great baseball player but also big building with bars on windows. Building for very sick people. Trump not sick. Trump smart. MAGA. Very smart people made Trump President. Very smart people keep Trump President. Take nap now. Use fake, I mean real Peace Prizes for pillows. Trump accomplishment. Nighty night."
At the World Economic Forum in Davos yesterday, Trump backed down from his Greenland threats, saying he would not use force.
