Dáil Urged To Sit Over Summer To Legislate For Abortion

Deputy Donnelly stated, “The Oireachtas now has a responsibility to enact the overwhelming view of the people.
"Any further delays to legislation would mean that more Irish women must travel in order to secure the healthcare they need, against the will of the people. This is a situation which cannot be allowed to continue."
He added: “We must act as quickly as possible to enact this legislation. Fianna Fáil will work throughout the summer months to ensure that this legislation is passed without delay through the Dáil.
"We believe that this will give us the time needed to ensure that legislation is enacted before the end of the year."
