With less than a week to go until Villagers' Windmill Live show on Thursday, October 30, we're thrilled to announce that the acclaimed, Dublin-based French-American artist Zoé Basha will also be performing a special guest slot on the night.
Taking place in the Townhall at 1WML, an iconic structure at the heart of the Windmill QTR, this unique Hot Press treat is the latest in a line of acclaimed gigs, following performances from Damien Dempsey, James Vincent McMorrow, LYRA, Gavin James, Lisa Hannigan, The Coronas, Hothouse Flowers, The Academic, Moncrieff and more, at one of Dublin’s most rock ‘n’ roll coordinates.
A renowned musician, composer and carpenter, Zoé Basha's work blends the boundaries between American ragtime, Appalachian mountain songs, and traditional Irish music. Her debut album, Gamble, was named Folk Album of The Month by The Guardian upon its release in April.
The album and its title track were also shortlisted for Grammy Award nominations in two categories: Best Folk Album and Best American Roots Performance.
In addition to her solo work, Zoé is a member of the three-part harmony trio Rufous Nightjar, alongside Anna Mieke and Branwen Kavanagh.
You can see Zoé's upcoming live dates – including sets in Gaoth Dobhair, Sligo and Cork – here.
Following that special guest slot, Villagers are set to take the stage for an unforgettable one-off show – which follows the release of last year's brilliant That Golden Time.
This gig serves as a unique opportunity to catch two thrillingly original talents in one spectacular setting – so don't miss out!
