This quality batch includes Cactus World News, The Fireflys, The Slowest Clock, The Blue Angels, The Prayer Boat & Tokyo Olympics! Next stop, the '90s...
We had no idea of the tsunami we were unleashing the other day in the Hot Press canteen (well, cubby hole) when we dashed off a list of 15 '80s Irish acts that should have been massive, but for various reasons - record company, manager, unsympathetic media, intra-band punch-ups etc. etc. - never got to throw a TV from the top floor of the Chateau Marmont.
Volume 1 quickly turned into Vol. 2 as you told us what eejits we were for omitting (insert your favourite '80s underachievers here) and generally not knowing our arses from our proverbials. Having sifted through your final mails, tweets, Facebooks and notes attached to large rocks, here's another list of fabulous acts that really should have done a lot better commercially than they did, but will always have a place in our rock 'n' roll hearts. N.B. We've included The Atrix again because of the sheer volume of messages mentioning them. Where video clips aren't available, we've stuck in a tune...
