Wendy James comes to Dublin
Former Transvision Vamp singer Wendy James will be bringing her new band Racine to Dublin this July.
As a member of Transvision Vamp, Wendy had a top 10 hit with ‘I Want Your Love’ in 1988. After the band broke up, she went on to release one solo album Now Ain’t The Time For Your Tears, which was written largely by Elvis Costello.
Released exclusively to iTunes in February, Racine 2 marks her new band's latest work, which they'll no doubt be highlighting on their forthcoming tour.
Racine will be supported by Junkstar at Crawdaddy on July 19 before moving on to London and Barcelona. Tickets for the Dublin show are €17 and are available from all the usual outlets.
Just two days later, Crawdaddy will be hosting the Australian brother/sister Duo Angus & Julia Stone, who will be releasing their new single Private Lawns on July 9. The pair will also be playing shows at the Roisin Dubh, Galway (July 18); Dolan’s, Limerick on (19) and Cyprus Avenue, Cork (20).
