Football fans everywhere are shaking their heads at the blunder
The home of "soccerball" is at it again, and the latest mistake has upset fans from all around the globe.
This past Monday, the organisers of the first Copa America to be held in the United States released a statement apologizing for playing the wrong national anthem for Uruguay in their match against Mexico the previous day. In the statement, they say that they will “ensure such an error does not occur again,” but mere hours later another similar mistake did occur.
This time, however, it was a Pitbull song that interrupted the Chilean national anthem.
The Chilean players soldiered on and continued to proudly sing their national anthem, but without musical accompaniment. This angered many fans, especially Uruguay Football Association president Wilmar Valdez, who had released an outline of his frustrations the previous day after the first error was made.

Valdez claims it was a “mistake” to host the tournament in the United States. “This may be a great Copa from a marketing and ‘show’ standpoint, but for South American football, it is another thing,” Valdez told Uruguay radio Sport 890.
Fans hope that the latest blunder will be Copa America’s last, but that seems unlikely with more than fifteen matches still lined up in the tournament.
