WATCH: New Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer

A new (and rather dark) trailer was just recently released for the highly anticipated film Star Wars: A Force Awakens.
The minute-long trailer opens with the Supreme Leader Snoke saying, "There has been an awakening. Have you felt it?"
Kylo Ren, the latest villain in the popular television franchise can be heard responds affirmative before Snoke replies, "Even you have never faced such a test."
The action packed trailer combines elements of laser beams, explosions and epic battles.
The film is scheduled to hit Irish cinemas December 17.
