WATCH: Johnny Marr on potential PJ Harvey collab
In a candid Hot Press interview at Stradbally, the guitarist also confirmed that he has a mystery soundtrack project in the works.
Chatting to Hot Press backstage at Electric Picnic, The Smiths legend revealed a hankering to work with the Dorset musician. "I'd love to do a track with PJ Harvey", he said. "She's someone that you're always pleased when she puts a record out."
Plus, following on his successful collaboration with Hans Zimmer on Inception he revealed there is another soundtrack project on the horizon.
"I'm going to do another film again but I can't say what it is yet", he stated. Speaking about the Christopher Nolan blockbuster he joked, "I got spoilt really because Inception did so well, so it's all downhill from there."
Marr confirmed that he is already demoing songs for the follow-up to The Messenger which he says stylistically are 'in the same ballpark'. In addition to his studio work the rest of the year will see him tour the UK again and bring his live show to Australia.
He added, "I want to do the festivals again next year, I don't want to go away!"
