WATCH: IBEYI to release second album in September, unveil video for new single
The French-Cuban duo has released their latest single ‘Deathless’ along with the announcement that their new album, Ash will come out on September 29th.
Following up their acclaimed eponymous debut, the group says the new album will look at such subjects as “womanhood, spirituality, activism and racism”, with the latest single being inspired by the wrongful arrest of lead-singer Lisa-Kainde Diaz when she was sixteen years old.
Featured on the track is the saxophonist Kamasi Washington, while guests on the album will include Mala Rodriguez, Chilly Gonzales and Meshell Ndegeocello.
