The limited biopic series follows Wu-Tang Clan's early days on Staten Island.
Hulu have shared the first teaser trailer for their highly anticipated Wu-Tang Clan biopic series, Wu-Tang: An American Saga. Over ten episodes, the series charts the early days of the iconic hip-hop group's career, at the height of the crack cocaine epidemic in New York.
The series was created by the group's de facto leader, RZA, alongside screenwriter Alex Tse (Watchmen, Superfly). RZA, Method Man and Brian Grazer also serve as executive producers. Featuring young rappers like Joey Bada$$ and Dave East playing Wu-Tang members Inspectah Deck and Method Man respectively, the show is set to premiere on Hulu on September 4.
Wu-Tang: An American Saga is the second Wu-Tang series of 2019, following Showtime's docu-series Of Mics and Men. Since releasing their debut album, Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), in 1993, the seminal hip-hop group have gone to sell a total of 40 million albums worldwide. In May, the group appeared alongside De La Soul and Public Enemy for the Gods of Rap tour at Dublin's 3Arena.
Although Hulu is not currently available to Irish viewers, other original series released on the platform, including The Handmaid's Tale, have previously been made available to wider audiences.
