Alan Partridge has recorded a special message for Irish fans ahead of the August 7 release here of his Alpha Papa movie, which co-stars Colm Meaney and is directed by Father Ted man Declan Lowney. No wonder he’s playing the shamrock card then.

Of course, we know from his TV series that Alan has an intuitive understanding of this country’s arts, politics and history, even if he has been put off playing ‘Sunday Bloody Sunday’ on North Norfolk Digital.
