Warpaint for the Tripod

One of 2010’s big buzz bands, Warpaint, are giving fans plenty of warning that they’re playing the Dublin Tripod on May 15. Tickets are €17 and €20 and go on sale this Friday.
Although around since 2004, the Los Angeles-based act only got to release their debut Rough Trade album, The Fool, in October.
A show shortly afterwards in Tripod’s sister venue, Crawdaddy, confirmed that they’ve the live chops to become a major force in 2011.
Since then they’ve supported The xx in the States and confirmed the January 7 release of their limited-edition ‘Shadows’ 12”, which also includes a Neon Lights remix of the title-track and a Javelin update of previous single, ‘Undertow’.
Completists should track down a copy of the David Bowie We Were So Turned On tribute album, which includes their fabulous cover of ‘Ashes To Ashes’.
